Heat Shrink Tool Holder adopts the technical principle of thermal expansion and contraction, utilizing the heating technology of a shrink fit machine. Heat shrink tool holders are also called: sintered tool holders, thermal expansion tool holders, etc. They can achieve ultra-high precision machining in all directions. The 360° complete clamping accuracy of the tool greatly improves rigidity.
The principle of the heat shrink tool holder is to use the difference in thermal expansion coefficients between the tool holder and the tool to tightly clamp the tool in a thermal mounting system. This system uses a shrink fit machine for heating and clamping, making tool installation and removal simple and convenient. The tool installation part does not require the nuts and components needed for collet chucks. It is simple and efficient; the slender shape of the tool holder head can make the protruding length of the tool more practical, which demonstrates the advantages of the heat shrink tool holder in deep cavity machining, providing stable clamping during high-speed machining and maintaining higher machining precision with high concentricity.
Compared with other tool holders, the material of the heat shrink tool holder has a high thermal expansion coefficient, allowing for low-temperature thermal mounting and removal. Regardless of how many times it undergoes thermal mounting and removal operations, the material will not change, and the precision of the heat shrink tool holder will not degrade. High rigidity tools have short protrusions, and the heat shrink tool holder does not require the nuts and collets used for clamping tools in a collet-type tool holder, being solely composed of the body itself. With a semi-angle of 3° and a wall thickness of 1.5mm, it is very lightweight and slender, minimizing interference with the workpiece.
Additionally, the heat shrink tool holder also enables high-rigidity, strong, and stable cutting without chatter, resulting in high-quality machining surfaces and high accuracy in runout. It effectively extends the life of the tools, free from fastening components (nuts, collets, etc.). Regardless of the operator's skill level, it can be accurately and precisely installed, as there is no need to adjust the degree of clamping, allowing for high-precision tool installation. High-precision clamping can extend tool life and provide high-durability machining. After multiple machining verifications, even after more than 2000 thermal mountings and removals of the same tool holder, there will be no change in precision, making its stable performance reliable.
Using the heating method of a shrink fit machine, the high power of 13KW can complete tool installation and clamping within 5 seconds, and cooling only takes 30 seconds. The unique water cooling device can prevent the precision of the tool holder from deteriorating.
The tool installation part does not have the nuts and collets required by collet chucks, making it simple and effective. The cold shrink clamping is forceful and stable, with tool eccentricity ≤3μ, reducing tool wear and ensuring high precision during high-speed machining.
The ultra-thin tip and various tool holder shapes can be widely used in high-speed high-precision machining and deep hole machining.
The thermal mounting and removal operation does not result in precision changes even after more than 2000 thermal mountings and removals of the same tool holder. The stable performance is reliable, and the service life is long.
