Hydraulic holder is a widely used tool holder. Unlike traditional tool holder systems, this tool holder requires only one locking screw to be tightened. When the bolt is tightened, it pushes the piston seal, generating hydraulic oil pressure inside the tool holder. This pressure is uniformly transferred from the circumferential direction to the steel expansion sleeve, which then clamps the tool.
Hydraulic holder works by using two concentric cylinders of an air-expansion shaft, sealing both ends to form a cylindrical cavity. One of the cylinders is filled with hydraulic oil and subjected to a certain pressure. This pressure is uniformly transmitted to every part of the oil chamber. The outer wall of these two concentric cylinders is relatively thin and expands outward when subjected to pressure. This deformation of the thin wall allows for both inner bore and outer diameter expansion clamping. The thin wall uniformly withstands the oil pressure at every point, providing high clamping precision for the inner bore and outer diameter of the parts. The hydraulic holder is developed based on this principle and has been successfully applied in CNC machining industries.
Hydraulic holder controls the radial runout error and repeatability precision to below 3UM, offering extremely high clamping rotational precision, improving cutting conditions, and reducing tool wear.
In drilling and reaming processes, it significantly improves hole dimensional accuracy and effectively prevents tool breakage, reducing tool wear.
The hydraulic oil inside the hydraulic holder also increases structural damping, providing excellent damping performance and reducing vibrations during cutting processes. This improves the surface quality of the workpiece, extends tool life by over 30%, reduces production costs, and saves tool changing time.
It is easy and flexible to operate, with high processing efficiency. It does not require expensive and complex peripheral equipment, reducing equipment costs.
Convenient loading and unloading, requiring only one locking screw for tightening, making the operation very simple.
When locking the hydraulic holder, please lock the screw completely. However, do not lock the screw empty without inserting a tool. (When manually locking the screw, lock it until the screw naturally stops. At this point, the clamping force of the hydraulic holder is optimal. Empty locking screws can cause problems such as tool insertion failure, tool holder oil leakage, and reduced accuracy.)
When installing the tool, please insert the tool tightly to the bottom of the hydraulic holder. If it is not possible to fit tightly due to different processing depths, please use a hydraulic collet. Without using a collet, do not exceed the lower 8MM distance of the tool holder's inner diameter. (Exceeding 8MM distance may lead to shrinkage and deformation of the tool holder's inner diameter.)
When inserting the cutting tool, please first remove any moisture and oil from the tool holder's inner diameter and the cutting tool. (Liquid contaminants may cause the tool to fall off during processing.)
It is prohibited to loosen the sealed screws on the hydraulic holder. (Loosening the sealed screws will cause oil leakage and make the tool holder unusable.) If the tool holder screws are damaged or there is no hydraulic pressure during operation, do not disassemble or insert other foreign objects by yourself. Contact the place of purchase immediately. Hydraulic holder is suitable for high precision tools such as milling cutters, drills, and reamers.
